Before you begin
Have the photo available in the iPhone or iPad file picker. The converter accepts HEIC and HEIF containers, checks the file contents, and supports batches of up to 8 files. Each file must be no larger than 20 MB and no more than 40 megapixels after decoding.
Follow these steps
Open the HEIC converter in a current browser. Choose Browse your device in the file area.
Select one photo or several HEIC / HEIF photos. The queue shows each name and size before conversion starts.
Keep JPG selected when you need broad compatibility. The quality control applies to JPG output; the default is 88.
Press Convert all. Each file moves through ready, converting, converted, or failed status independently.
Review the preview and the reported dimensions. Use the individual Download button, or download the successful results as one ZIP.
What to check in the result
Open the JPG in the destination app or site before deleting the original. The output has a .jpg extension and a JPEG MIME type. The decoded orientation is rendered into the new image. The tool does not promise to retain the original metadata, multi-frame content, HDR behavior, or lossless encoding.
If a photo will not convert
- If the file is empty or a JPG was renamed to
.heic, the content check rejects it before decoding. - If the file is over 20 MB or decodes above 40 megapixels, remove it or use a smaller source.
- If the browser reports memory pressure, close other heavy tabs and try one file at a time.
- If only one item fails, the rest of the queue can still finish. Use Retry after addressing the likely cause.
